AXA has been serving customers in China since 1999. AXA Tianping is AXA’s Property and Casualty company in China and began as an innovative car insurer under the name Tianping. AXA entered into a joint-venture agreement to form AXA Tianping in 2014, to create a diversified insurance company with a national footprint of 25 branches and 93 sub-branches covering 20 provinces. In 2019, its award-winning service earned it a “AA” rating by the Chinese Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC). In December 2019, AXA completed the acquisition of the remaining 50% stake in AXA Tianping from its domestic shareholders, becoming a 100% foreign-owned P&C insurer in the Chinese market. AXA Tianping today is executing a bold strategy to bring a full range of world-class insurance solutions to the market for the increasingly complex needs of its customers in China.
