碧然德的悠久历史始于1966年，企业创始人 Heinz Hankammer 先生产生一个想法，用一种便捷又简单的方法优化自来水。自此，这个总部设立于德国陶努斯坦镇的企业，从白手起家发展成为今天活跃于国际舞台的知名企业。
1970年，碧然德（BRITA）的第一个家用滤水壶申请专利成功，由此整个家族将全部精力投入于公司的发展。 1980年碧然德专业级滤水壶问世，如今，不止咖啡厅、餐厅在使用碧然德的专业滤水设备，医院、疗养院、学校、幼儿园、公司都可以拥有自己的碧然德专业滤水方案。
