1LDA is a company specialising in, but not restricted to, formal and informal investigations into organisational abuse and Safeguarding issues, particularly in the field of mental health (both children & adults) and vulnerable adults. We also offer the taking of witness statements, independent grievance procedure/work place complaint investigations and training in relevant law, court procedures and Safeguarding.
We are three Directors/Investigators from diverse professional backgrounds. We believe that our unique collaboration is our strength as we have unparalleled breadth and depth of experience across the field:
• Nicki Walker-Hall MSC Forensic Psychology, MA Child Welfare and Protection, RSCN, RGN (Paediatric Nurse) working as an Independent Safeguarding Consultant
• Jane Ball DML, retired Barrister-At-Law, Certificate in Forensic Psychology currently training police officers in crime and court procedure
• Rachel Williams-Hill, retired police detective of 30 years (PIP level 2 accredited) with expertise in dealing with vulnerable adults with mental health issues, having been the Police Liaison Officer at Rampton High Security Hospital.

Investigations undertaken by 1LDA have included being Lead Reviewers for a Safeguarding Adult Review pertaining to the death in custody of an adult suffering from a mental health disorder and conducting a review into the conduct and practices of the employees of a charity deployed to an overseas territory.
