Powered by the 89 Initiative, the first European think-do tank, an affiliated organisation of the LSE’s European Institute, 89 Connect aims to be an asset boosting wider involvement of young experts and professionals in the public policy sphere, by directly connecting them with one another and with key stakeholders from within sector.

The objective of 89 Connect is to create a social network for professionals in public policy. This would fuse professional networking with topic area debate. It would thus become the go-to source for a range of stakeholders looking to source talent in the public policy domain. The presence of 89 Connect would also make EU policy debates more representative, bringing the voice of young people to the fore and empowering them both professionally and personally.
It allows users (both organisations and professionals) to find one another and interact. It achieves this in three ways:
- 89 Connect allows young policy professionals to connect, sharing projects, ideas, and debating policy.
- It allows employers to connect with potential potential collaborators or recruits, from our sector-specific database of users.
- 89 Connect directly connects event organisers to potential young expert speakers and conference participants. This eases conference promotion by increasing visibility for organisers.
