A Band Called Wanda are an enigmatic, energetic quartet from Galway in the west of Ireland. Upon leaving the band’s hometown of Galway to hone their skills in the wilderness of Mayo, they returned from the crossroads with a triumphant show on the main stage at The Volvo Ocean Race stopover in Galway. The following months have seen them play alongside such renowned acts as The Hothouse Flowers, Alabama 3 and The Saw Doctors but to name a few. The band have also set out on a musical odyssey, visiting towns, villages and homes in the West of Ireland to rekindle old friendships and begin ones anew with regular appearances in Balla, Kiltimagh, Ballaghadereen and Lahinch. Their residency in Galway’s Bar No.8 is not to be missed. Having developed a uniquely recognizable sound, A Band Called Wanda manage to maintain distinct originality through their vast array of songs.
