The International Potato Center (known by its Spanish acronym CIP) is a research-for-development organization with a focus on potato, sweet potato and Andean roots and tubers. CIP is dedicated to delivering sustainable solutions to the pressing world issues of hunger, poverty, gender equity, climate change and the preservation of Earth's biodiversity and natural resources.

In Europe and North America is a multi-million dollar industry and it provides more food per unit of water than any other major crop, more nutrients and an excellent source of carbohydrates, calcium and vitamin C. Potatoes are produced in over 100 countries and global crop production exceeds 300 million metric tons.
Can you imagine a world without potatoes? This thought-provoking question will be asked to billions of consumers around the world who depend on the potato for food, nutrition and enjoyment. A campaign to raise awareness and help us understand that in the amazing biodiversity of the potato we can find answers to the challenges we face in the future such as climate change, food security and development.
