Founded in September 2013 in Lucca by the will of Rosanna Viaggi President of A.C.C.A. Carrara and Valentina Aletti, psychologist-psychotherapist specializing in eating disorders.
The association was born from the need of patients and their families to give the "food problem" a qualified and not exclusively health-related response through the development of a help network of volunteers and specialized professionals. This is possible thanks also to the collaboration with territorial realities such as: Municipalities, Associations and other Structures for Eating Disorders of various levels.
A.C.C.A. Lucca aims to pay attention to all problems concerning the relationship with food, from the most known pathologies such as Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Obesity, to all disorders below the threshold and less commonly recognized, with the aim of improving the quality of people's lives in a perspective of Prevention, Health Promotion and Care.
The A.C.C.A. Lucca is made up of volunteers, often ex-patients, family members or friends of people with eating disorders and a multidisciplinary team of professionals specialized in the treatment of eating behavior.
The Association, the first branch of A.C.C.A. Carrara and then an autonomous reality since 2015, is officially registered at the Lucca Registry Office on 29/06/2016 (reg. Number 1828) and duly registered in the provincial section of the Regional Volunteer Register.
