Aliança Catalana Trials i Natura (ACTN), was established on May 30, 2023 with the main objective of Facilitating and Promoting the practice of mountain biking as a Physical-Sports, Recreational and Tourist activity throughout the Catalan Territory, seeking long-term Sustainability and maximizing the positive social and economic impact of this activity. The main objective of the ACTN is facilitate and promote the practice of mountain biking as a physical-sporting, recreational and tourist activity throughout the Catalan territory following the criteria for access to the natural space established by IMBA-Europe and in collaboration with IMBA-Spain. To achieve its aims, the association carries out the following activities: 1. Intermediate between the different initiatives of local groups (clubs / associations / companies) and the official institutions and the eventual land managers or landlords. 2. As far as possible, facilitate the local groups' access to both public (e.g. subsidies) and private funding. 3. Disseminate and promote best practices for the creation and maintenance of trails in the natural areas where mountain biking is practiced. 4. Disseminate scientific studies on the real impact of mountain biking within the natural space. 5. Disseminate and promote the code of good behavior established by IMBA-Europe for mountain bike practitioners in particular and all users of trails in natural space in general. 6. Act as a spokesperson for the entire community practicing the sport of mountain biking in Catalonia, excluding all competitive practices, which remain under the domain of the Federació Catalana de Ciclisme (FCC). 7. In general, promote Catalonia as one of the regions in Europe where there are the best possibilities to practice mountain biking throughout the entire year.
