Doel van Acute Zorg Euregio is het bij elkaar brengen van alle ketenpartners die op enigerlei wijze betrokken zijn bij het verlenen van acute zorg om samen ervoor te zorgen dat elke patiënt met een acute zorgvraag zo snel mogelijk op de juiste plaats komt om de juiste behandeling te krijgen.

Een van de belangrijkste taken van Acute Zorg Euregio is het onderhouden van een goede samenwerking met en tussen alle ketenpartners. Dit gebeurt onder andere door deelname in en het faciliteren van meerdere overlegvormen.
Overleg, afstemming en bestuurlijke verankering tussen organisaties, betrokken bij de hulpverlening aan de patiënt met een acute zorgvraag, ook tijdens rampen en grootschalige ongevallen, vindt plaats in het ROAZ-overleg (Regionaal Overleg Acute Zorgketen).
Acute Zorg Euregio is één van de elf netwerken acute zorg en werkt naast de regionale ketenpartners, ook samen over grens met het Duitse 'Traumanetzwerk Nordwest'.
Acute Zorg Euregio is daarnaast vertegenwoordigd in verschillende bovenregionale en landelijke gremia.
