ADrises was created as a result of my own experience with transgressive behaviour in sport on 9 March 2017. I was thirteen years old when I saw my trainer's phone under the door while trying on beach volleyball clothes. So what do you do? I immediately spoke to my trainer about his behavior and reported it to the police the same evening. A complex process followed in which 'victim blaming' and wrong advice were central.

Transgressive behaviour is a topical problem. Now - almost five years later - I share my story to inform and activate others so that an awareness is created for such cases. Everyone needs to be informed about boundaries. Set your own boundary and respect someone else's. By sharing my story, I also like to contribute to policy development regarding a safe sports climate. It is important that sport organizations actively develop policies for a safe sports climate, because every case of transgressive behaviour is one too many and the impact is enormous!
