The "New Technologies in Gastrointestinal Surgery – Minimally Invasive Techniques – Bariatric Surgery" programme is an MSc programme by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Medical School. It operates under the auspice of the 1st Propaedeutic Surgical Department of the Athens Medical School at the "Hippocration" General Hospital of Athens, it runs on a two-year long course rotation and is intended exclusively for specialist and resident surgeons.
Our mission is to give to our students the opportunity to delve deeper in recent laparoendoscopic and robotic techniques, both in theory as well as in practice, via a meticulously organized two-year curriculum. To this day and since its inception, ours is the first university-mandated Master of Science programme in Greece that is addressed exclusively to surgeons, focusing on intense training, and with added emphasis on the students' hands-on training in simboxes, simulation stations, robotic console, as well as the operating theatre, with live participation in actual surgical procedures.
Το ΠΜΣ «Νέες Τεχνολογίες Χειρουργικής Πεπτικού, Ελάχιστα Επεμβατικές Τεχνικές, Βαριατρική Χειρουργική» είναι ένα μεταπτυχιακό πρόγραμμα της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Οργανώνεται από την Α’ Προπαιδευτική Χειρουργική Κλινική της Ιατρικής Σχολής Αθηνών, στο «Ιπποκράτειο» Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Αθηνών, έχει διάρκεια δύο έτη και απευθύνεται αποκλειστικά σε ειδικευμένους και ειδικευόμενους Χειρουργούς.
Στόχος μας είναι η εκπαίδευση των φοιτητών μας στις νέες ελάχιστα επεμβατικές τεχνολογίες, εστιάζοντας κυρίως στη Λαπαροσκοπική και Ρομποτική Χειρουργική. Από την ίδρυση του ως και σήμερα, είμαστε το πρώτο ΠΜΣ Ελληνικού Πανεπιστημίου που απευθύνεται αποκλειστικά σε χειρουργούς, με εντατικούς ρυθμούς διδασκαλίας και με ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στην πρακτική εξάσκηση των φοιτητών σε simboxes, σταθμούς προσομοίωσης, ρομποτική κονσόλα και με συμμετοχή σε πραγματικές χειρουργικές επεμβάσεις.
