I am an editor with more than five years of experience working with academics in the biological sciences.
As a published scientist myself, I understand the challenges faced by academics trying to get their manuscripts accepted for publication. My aim is to enable scientists who are not native English speakers to increase their chances of publication in international journals. My work involves editing not only the English, but also the structure, clarity and content of draft manuscripts, and I will comment on the logic and methods used where I see potential issues.
I am a native English speaker with a BSc Hons. in molecular biology from the University of Edinburgh, an MSc in ecology from the University of Aberdeen and the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, and a PhD in plant systematics, also from Aberdeen and RBGE.
My areas of expertise include plant taxonomy and systematics, genetics, plant ecology, molecular biology, biogeography and phylogenetics, but I have also edited for academics in the fields of virology and social sciences.
