הסיפור שלנו מתחיל בשנת 1998 בהחלטה אמיצה של האדריכלית נגה אלתר לשנות את הסביבה המוכרת והבטוחה, לעזוב את תפקידה כאדריכלית ומתכננת בכירה בחברה גדולה, ולהקים את חברת אלתר בראשותה ובמקביל לעבוד כיועצת חיצונית לתכנון פיתוח נוף והשקיה בעיריית תל אביב.
במשך כ-30 שנים השקיעה נגה בעיצוב ותכנון היחס שבין האדם לסביבתו העירונית מתוך הבנה עמוקה שהעתיד נמצא בסביבה. נגה תכננה אלפי פרויקטים, עבדה עם הלקוחות הגדולים בשוק הנדל"ן וביססה את חברת אלתר כאחד ממשרדי אדריכלות הנוף המובילים בענף, אך בעולם של תכנון והנדסת נוף מתבלטים המשרדים שמצליחים להעיף מבט קדימה ולתכנן את העתיד!
נגה הבינה כי על מנת להשפיע משמעותית בענף הנדסת הסביבה, חברת אלתר חייבת להשתנות ולשחק על כל מגרש האדריכלות והנדסת הסביבה והשינוי הטוב ביותר מתחיל מבפנים, מהסביבה הכי קרובה - מהמשפחה.
בשנת 2011 נגה צרפה לחברה את בנה מנור, מהנדס מכונות ומכטרוניקה , יועץ בנייה ירוקה, תרמי ואקוסטיקה שפיתח והקים מחלקות הבניה הירוקה, התרמי והאקוסטי בחברה. כמו כן בעלה פרץ, איש צבא קבע יוצא בחיל האוויר כאשר הניסיון הטכני והראיה הניהולית לאורך שנות שירותו בצה"ל נתן את הכיוון וזו היתה תחילת הבניה לתשתית עסקית ומשפחתית איתנה המבוססת על מתן פתרון ייחודי בישראל: שילוב של יכולות פיתוח ותכנון נוף עם ייעוץ וליווי בניה ירוקה ומתן פתרון אקוסטי לכלל סוגי הפרויקטים ובכך להפוך את חברת אלתר לחברה היחידה בישראל הנותנת שירותי אדריכלות והנדסת סביבה באופן מלא.
