Amrapali Utkarsh Sangh is a registered NGO (Reg. No. MH|310|93 / F107880) working for rescue, rehabilitation and education of children of commercial sex workers (CSWs) and the destitute in and around Nagpur district. It provides free food, shelter and a family environment to these children from weaker sections of the community to ensure their all-round and holistic development.
Our NGO is the result of the lifelong struggle and efforts of Mr. Ram Ingole, a social crusader and a person of relentless energy, right from his teenage years. Rambhau, as we lovingly call him, is well over his sixties today, and has succeeded in making a positive dent in the society.
The most recent project of AUS is the Navin Desai Residential School at Pachgaon, which provides a fully residential community education facility for children of quarry workers in stone mines near this area. The school, started as a Sunday school under a tree by children of Vimlashram Gharkul themselves to help their lesser fortunate brethren, now has a fully functional hostel and food facility, education from grade I to IX, and 180+ children of migratory labourers from Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Every facility is provided free of cost.
