Archaeo Cultural Heritage Services (Archaeo) was established in 1996 as one of Queensland’s first privately owned cultural heritage consultancies. While providing consultancy services across the full range of Indigenous (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander), historic and built cultural heritage, Archaeo soon found itself fulfilling an additional role in the provision of employment, engagement and cultural heritage agreement implementation services for both Traditional Owner Groups and proponents across Queensland. In summary Archaeo: • Is a registered labour-hire company that specialises in the employment of Traditional Owners. • Has in excess of 200 registered Traditional Owner field officers & coordinators on our books. • Has extensive experience working with Traditional Owner groups across Queensland and Northern New South Wales. • Is a consistent provider of high level strategic advice to both proponents and Traditional Owner groups. • Successfully partners with both proponents and Traditional Owner groups to provide culturally appropriate employment and training services. • Has a proven track record of successfully training and mentoring members of Traditional Owner groups, with the aim of long-term employment. • Partners with Aboriginal organisations and corporations to assist in skills and capacity building such that they may more effectively manage their business. • For more than 20 years, has provided a full suite of cultural heritage management services (Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and non-Indigenous), with these services provided by the team of professionals at Converge. Archaeo enjoys strong commercial links with a range of other skilled professionals, including partnering with a number of legal firms who specialise in the provision of Native Title and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage legal advice. Such partnerships enable us to provide our clients with a well-rounded pool of specialist advisers.
