Hello. My name is David Miller. ArtMythicaShop.com is the virtual home
for my own original artwork and that of a select group of my artist friends.
It was a concept that would unite my work, both abstract and photo-based, and
that of my dear artist friend Rocio Amozurrutia. Rocio's work were mostly figurative drawings and paintings which explored the art of various times and cultures with an emphasis on her native Mexico and Latin America. She created a series of portraits of Frida Kahlo, some of which can be found here as prints and print on demand products such as t-shirts, mugs, tote bags and jewelry. She also painted Buddhas, gods and goddesses, and Mayan art designs. Sadly Rocio passed away in 2015, but through ArtMythicaShop.comour collaboration lives on.
My own art includes abstract patterns and designs as well as my own Buddhas, mandalas, tantras, Tarot card images, landscapes, and photos.
We chose the name ArtMythica to reflect our mutual interest in mythology, sacred geometry, nature, and world art and cultures. We were inspired by the writing of the great teacher and scholar of comparative mythology and comparative religion, Joseph Campbell, and his much loved TV series, "The Power of Myth."
While site visitors and email list subscribers will be notified concerning products, new works, contests, prizes, discounts, etc., the main products in the store are "print-on-demand" products. These can be wall art, posters, prints, t-shirts, mugs, home decor items and more. The reason for this is that I like the "hands free" aspect of print on demand. I want to be able to do the fulfillment, shipping, customer service, etc. without being tied down to my store.
