In many SMB businesses it's also the owner/CEO trying to manage the sales efforts while managing other areas of the business and do not have someone to take on the leadership needed to execute a well designed sales plan. Many don't know there are options to solve these problems.
I work with small and medium size businesses who are committed to getting to the next level of revenue growth. First, I will conduct a Sales Discovery to determine where the gaps are and prioritize where to focus first. Then I will create the Sales Infrastructure, or the foundation for growth. This includes the Strategy, Process, and Structure that align to growth. I will then take the burden of Sales Leadership off the owner/CEO and manage the execution of the plan and lead the sales team and hold them accountable to the sales plan and growth targets.
As a fractional/outsourced VP of Sales, my goal and purpose is to help that business get to the next level of growth and put them in a position where they feel a full-time VP of Sales is needed and justified. If that person happens to come from within, I'll coach and mentor that person so that I'm able to transition the role to this new leader. If that person needs to come externally, I'll also help recruit and vet that person before transitioning them into the full time role.
