INACT Association offers to spectators a journey of experiences both intense and ponderated, that privilege reflection and judgement rather than a unilateral approach, following the idea of the artist Robert Filiou “Art is that what makes life more interesting than art”. In 2011, this organization was born from the initiative of visual artists founders of the La Semencerie collective in Strasbourg.
“INACT Mutant Arts Festival” is the main project of the association. The festival goal is to support and showcase intermedia artistic practices with a local and international scope. For 10 years, this annual event has offered an unique point of view about the current state of performance art with both emerging and renowned artists.
INACT Association is committed with several organisations that defend and support working conditions of professionals of the culture sector. The planning of the festival is done on a volunteer basis by members of the board of directors, however, the artists and technicians hired are payed, accommodated and compensated their contributions.
INACT Association knows how to work with a network of partners from the contemporary art sector in Strasbourg. This non-profit association is supported by the City and Eurometropolis of Strasbourg, the DRAC Grand Est, the Grand Est region, the Regional Council of the Bas-Rhin department and the ADAGP.
Cooperation Strasbourg - Kinshasa
In 2021, INACT Association crossed the borders with “KINACT international meeting of performing artists”. This project is a partnership with the visual artists collective Eza Possibles from Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
KINACT supports local emerging artists within a multicultural setting. Each summer, performances take place on the streets of different neighbourhoods of the congolese capital and they are confronted directly to the inhabitants perception.
