Astrea was born, as well as from the great passion for shoes, from the desire to create a product that is, as much as possible, sustainable and cruelty-free. The fundamental concept of the Astrea brand is sustainability to the maximum of its possibilities: a product that respects the environment and animals in every part of the production, from the creative process to shipping. A product that is fashionable at the same time, that follows the trends of the season, that reflects what fashion is: art. Astrea will be using the valid alternative materials that already exist on the market but are still very undervalued and/or little known. The production will take place in Italy, with the use of innovative materials; they will range from vegetable leathers, biodegradable fabrics, organic and/or recycled materials. WHY "ASTREA"? In mythology, Astrea, daughter of Zeus and Themis, was one of the Hours: she protected the law courts and was an inflexible punisher of crimes. Legends tell that the Goddess she descended to earth in the Golden Age: it was the kingdom of Justice and Good Faith and the Gods lived alongside mortals; once upon a time there was no violence between men and people ate only legumes and fruits. It was a period of eternal spring, peace and justice reigned supreme. With the birth of the first conflicts between men, the Goddess Astrea took the responsibility of admonishing men and leading them to the right path. Unfortunately her efforts were in vain; embittered and disgusted, Astrea decided to leave permanently, flying with her wings among the shining stars (becoming the constellation of the Virgin), from where she, increasingly sad, watched the pettiness of men spread. This explains the reason behind this name: we hope that we can return to the Golden Age;We want a world where every living being has the right to live according to the laws of nature. We need peace and justice, we need Astrea to return to Earth.
