DIGIT is one of Aarhus University’s strategic research centres working on developing solutions to the world’s grand challenges. DIGIT works to strengthen Aarhus University's position within the area of digitalisation. Disruption is happening in societies all over the world – driven by new innovations based on novel IT-based solutions. DIGIT is an interdisciplinary thematic centre and a collaboration between five departments at AU’s Faculties of Technical and Natural Science:

to carry out excellent cross-disciplinary research to provide a recognised contribution to the worldwide digital transformation of society to the benefit of mankind.

to strengthen Aarhus University's position in the general area of digitalisation, both nationally as well as internationally.
DIGIT’s Centre Leader is Peter Gorm Larsen, Professor at the AU, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
