Catch, AUC’s sports committee, has been providing the AUC students with sports activities since the beginning of AUC. In the past few years, it has been growing both in terms of board members and in terms of sports teams and activities organised.
Catch has four main goals:
- Get AUC students active: get as many AUC students as possible involved in the sports teams. This is done primarily through our sports teams but also through our events which always involve an element of sports/activity
- Provide sports at a high but accessible level: One of the most important things about the sports we provide is that they are accessible to anyone and it should stay that way. However, there should be room for the excellent Catchletes to perform at a higher level.
- Get all AUC students (not only those in sports teams) to sport together in our sports events: organise sport-related activities which are accessible to all AUC students. Some examples of these activities were laser tag, ice skating or bar Olympics
- School spirit: Use sport to create a bonding/uniting ‘proud of AUC’ feeling. Examples of this are the Inter-UC League, sports clothes, and yells/school songs.
