Awesome Mind Speaks exists to spark a shift in how young people think about mental health. We know that mental well-being can be challenging to discuss, especially with the stigma that surrounds it. That’s why we’re here—to make mental health easier to understand, approachable, and something young people can genuinely connect with. At AMS, we’re all about early intervention and providing the knowledge and support young people need to navigate life's challenges, bounce back stronger, and shape their own futures with confidence. It’s not just about fixing problems; it’s about equipping youth with the tools they need to keep moving forward.
Our approach involves meeting young people where they are. Be Awesome integrates mental health conversations into schools, offering practical insights on how students can take care of their mental well-being. The Generational Perspective Dialogue brings together young people and key decision-makers to address the essential changes needed in mental health policies and support systems. Through our Continue Speak Out - Reach Out Campaign, we’re reaching universities and communities, fostering safe spaces for students to speak up and seek help when needed. For those finishing high school or entering university, the Compeer Program provides a year-long, hands-on toolkit that helps them manage their mental health and support those around them.
Ultimately, what we do is straightforward: we help young people move beyond the stigma and actively engage with their mental health. Whether through education, advocacy, or practical tools, we’re building a community where mental health is not feared or ignored but embraced and managed.
