AZ-1 (pronounced as one) is a web portal for engaged citizens and community organizations, where the efforts across the state are curated into a centralized location to make it easier for the community to find what they are looking for, in order to achieve digital equity faster in the state of Arizona.
Our mission is to improve broadband access and digital skills in Arizona. Together, a coalition of organizations contribute to this repository of resources on broadband expansion, digital equity + inclusion efforts, and opportunities across the state for everyone in Arizona to learn, share, and advance on closing the digital divide and improving broadband access.
Developed as a shared resource through ASU’s Maricopa County Broadband Initiative, AZ-1 provides insights into the current state of internet access, share relevant socioeconomic factors, and aid in the identification of areas that could benefit from digital equity outreach. A centerpiece of AZ-1 is a custom, dynamic map that visually represents broadband connectivity across the County to help inform city and community planning.
The AZ-1 web portal was created and is maintained through ASU’s Maricopa County Broadband Initiative.
