Geinspireerd op het romantische Venetie en uit bewondering en respect voor de Italiaanse gastvrijheid werd het café aan het Jansplein vernoemd naar het oudste café van Italië, Caffe Florian aan het San Marco plein dat sinds 1720 een uitmuntende service combineert met een onbetwiste kwaliteit.
Sinds de opening in 2004 is Bar Florian de meest spraakmakende horecazaak van Arnhem. In het jaar van de opening werd de Best Bar Design Award gewonnen. Bar Florian liet daarmee trendsettende clubs als Jimmy Woo en The Mansion achter zich. In 2008 werd de Willem Diehl prijs gewonnen, een toonaangevende architectuurprijs in Gelderland.
Maar de bar dankt zijn naam en faam voornamelijk aan het evenaren van de kwaliteit van zijn Italiaanse naamgenoot. Een voortreffelijke service met een uitnodigende glimlach zorgt dagelijks voor een volle zaak en in de zomer voor een druk en gezellig terras.
Sinds 2011 zijn Milan Scholten en David van Tuil de trotse eigenaren van Bar Florian. De ambities en de jonge ondernemersgeest waaien als een verfrissende wind door de straten en over pleinen in de hoop U te ontmoeten en U uit te nodigen voor een zalig moment samen.
