Yes, it doubles the fun on things you always wanted to buy, see, eat, drink and do. The BargainCrowd Story BargainCrowd could easily be termed as a byproduct of the recent recession in US. With pay cuts and pink slips becoming order of the day, everyone was looking for ways and means of stretching their dollar. On the other hand, the merchants were experiencing the heat since people were cutting expenses (unwillingly though). Now, there were deals’ and coupons’ sites around, but they were not really doing enough to help either side. All merchants were not able to participate because there was only one deal per day. And the consumers suffered even more because besides getting just one deal per day (which could or could not be of their interest), they could not be sure about getting the deal because these deals required a minimum number of buyers in order to activate the deal. So, what’s the fun...we thought. That’s when the idea of ‘confirmed deals’ (without minimum buyer requirements) came up. And by limiting the number of purchases on each deal, we ensured that there were a larger number of relevant deals available each day (say 2-3 deals). In this way, we were able to cater to the preferences of all consumers and at the same time ensure that all the great merchants got a fair share of business through bargaincrowd. However, we did not stop here. With a strong background in financial matters and retail negotiations, we were able to pre-negotiate the best deals from merchants and were also able to create a financial model (points system) to bring amazing benefits to the consumers. And we did some more brainstorming to keep it all simple and straightforward for everyone to see (with nothing hidden from anyone). Bargaincrowd was born.
