Başmakçı Akkeçili Köyü Karayolu üzerinde 1992 yılında ilçemizdeki Tarımsal Kalkınma Kooperatifleri ve bu kooperatif üyelerinin katılımı ile kurulan 495 ortaklı halka açık, Sermaye Piyasası Kuruluna tabi Başyem Yem Fabrikası, 30.000 m2 açık alan 2,170 m2 kapalı alan ve yıllık 46.000 ton üretim kapasitesiyle tarım ve hayvancılık sektöründe faaliyetlerini sürdüren bir anonim şirkettir. İşletmemiz 1995 yılı şubat ayında karma yem üretimine başlamış olup, kurulu kapasitemiz 20 ton/saattir. Karma yem sektörü içerisinde yer alan işletmemiz üretiminin tamamını ilçe ve çevre köylerde pazarladığından, sektörde ilçesinde belirleyici ve yönlendirici konumda bulunmaktadır. Kanatlı ve büyükbaş yem üretimi yapan işletmemiz, 2002 yılında Yumurta Tavukçuluğuna başlayarak entegrasyona girmiş, 2008 yılı itibariyle 6 adet yumurta tavukçuluğu, 2 adet civciv büyütme kümesleri ile 250.000 adet yumurta üretim kapasitesine sahip olmuştur. Karma yem üretimi dışında şirkete ait kümeslerde civciv yetiştirme ve yumurta tavukçuluğu ile ilgili kapasite artırımına devam etmektedir.
2017 yılı itibariyle 8 adet yumurta tavukçuluğu, 2 adet civciv büyütme kümesleri ile 500.000 adet yumurta üretim kapasitesine sahip olmuştur.
