BBB Technologies is an investigative forensic services company who operate laboratories in Dublin. Founded in 2009, we are experts in the forensic examination of materials. These materials include paints, adhesives, glass, textiles, foams, sealants, elastomers, wood, metal, plastics, and composites. This forensic examination may be requested to establish if the materials used to make an item are authentic or defective. We are also requested to investigate other incidences, such as accidents, where the alleged failure of something has led to injury or financial loss. Our laboratories are divided into five sections. The Metallographic Section is responsible for the preparation of samples and has the facilities to prepare any type of sample for further microscopy examination. Metallographic preparation is a step-process where the specimen is cut, imbedded in resin, ground down and polished and in so doing, allows for the intimate examination of the specimen. The Microscopy Section uses a large array of different materials microscopes to examine a vast range of materials, magnification ranging from 9x to over 10,000x. All microscopes are fitted with HD cameras. The Analytical Section uses an array of spectroscopy techniques to analyse both organic materials and inorganic materials. Spectroscopic techniques include Emission and Infrared Spectroscopy. The Chemistry Section carries out chemical tests on a very large range of organic and inorganic materials in both solid and liquid forms. The Photographic Section is responsible for all internal technical photography & photographic technical services requested by a range of clients. Most of the matters which we are asked to investigate, involve either the prospect of litigation or active litigation. For such matters, we provide independent, validated scientific opinions with heavily illustrated technical reports. We also act as Expert Witnesses. We work with all over the world.
