Behrnes' owner and founder, Jan Olavarri, noticed that there were too many great salsa's on the market and not enough phenomenal seasonings. Starting with Cayenne, and then branching out to Chipotle, Jalapeño, Habanero, Carolina Reaper and now, Hatch. Her entrepreneurial spirit and desire to spice up people's lives led to this new chapter in her life. After finalizing the recipe in our home kitchen we partnered with Pendery's World of Chiles & Spices, the oldest family owned & operated business in Texas, as our manufacturer. Their reputation for using only the finest ingredients pared well with the original pepper salt seasoning we made with all of the chili and spices. Result- hand blended and bottled- a perfect blend of salt, garlic, turmeric, thyme, oregano, cumin and peppers to give everything you eat heat and flavor. It all started with several chili plants in a backyard garden… What to do with all the peppers those two little plants produced? After two years of trial and error in our kitchen, we created a unique blend of spices and pepper that was a seasoning that had to be shared. This bloomed into our pepper salt blends: Hatch, Chipotle, Jalapeño, Cayenne, Habanero and Carolina Reaper. These delicious seasoning of chili spices, enhance flavor, blend cultures, and add either a tame, smoky, fresh, hot, fiery or ridiculously HOT! something extra to any food.
