Wij zijn de Bussumse Football Club (BFC). Een ambitieuze en gezellige voetbalclub uit Bussum, prachtig gelegen in het hart van ‘t Gooi. Opgericht in 1920 en spelend in de kleuren blauw, wit en rood. BFC telt 1.900 leden: jongens, meisjes, senioren en veteranen. Bij ons kunnen zij volop hun voetbaltalent ontplooien en genieten van het voetbalspel. Bij BFC voelt iedereen zich thuis.
Wij houden van voetbal. En voetbal draait boven alles om plezier hebben met elkaar. BFC is een club voor iedereen die wil voetballen; jongens, meiden, senioren en veteranen. Op prestatief én recreatief niveau.
Diversiteit, inclusiviteit en veiligheid staan bij ons hoog in het vaandel. BFC’s meidentak is momenteel de snelst groeiende afdeling binnen de club.
Wij vinden het belangrijk dat leden zich bij BFC goed kunnen ontwikkelen. Onze jeugdopleiding is van zeer hoge kwaliteit en heeft in 2017 van de KNVB het certificaat van Regionale Jeugdopleiding (RJO) gekregen. In 2020 is het certificaat verlengd. Daarmee behoort BFC tot een selecte groep van 40 amateurverenigingen met dit prestigieuze predicaat.
In de jeugd spelen onze selectieteams op landelijk divisieniveau. Zo wordt het jonge voetbaltalent klaargestoomd voor een plekje in het eerste elftal, het ‘eindproduct’ van onze opleiding. BFC1 is ons vlaggenschip en speelt in de zaterdag 2e klasse. Dit team bestaat voor 80% uit bij BFC opgeleide spelers en heeft de ambitie om te promoveren.
De kwaliteit van onze jeugdopleiding blijkt onder meer uit onze partnership met Ajax. In 2016 kreeg BFC van Ajax de hoogst mogelijke status van ‘Ster Partner’. Er zijn in Nederland slechts 8 andere verenigingen met deze eervolle classificatie, waaronder AFC (Amsterdam), Koninklijke HFC (Haarlem) en Zeeburgia (Amsterdam).
Trots en vereerd waren we toen BFC in het kader van ons 100-jarig bestaan in 2021 de Koninklijke Erepenning van de commissaris van de koning in ontvangst mocht nemen.
