Onder de naam Bibliocenter vormen de bibliotheken in de gemeenten Leudal, Maasgouw, Nederweert en Weert sinds 1 juli 2008 één grote bibliotheekorganisatie.
ORGANISATIE
Ons werkgebied heeft bijna 126.000 inwoners en drie full-service vestigingen in Weert, Nederweert en Maasbracht. Daarnaast elf bibliotheekpunten met diensten voor jeugd en volwassen en dertien Bibliotheken op School. Door toepassing van de dBOS-formule is het aantal ingeschreven jeugdleden gestegen.
Het bibliotheekwerk vindt niet meer alleen plaats binnen het bibliotheekgebouw, maar ook daarbuiten. De resultaten van ons werk komen niet alleen tot uitdrukking in aantallen leden, bezoekers en uitleningen. Maar ook in het aantal cursussen en activiteiten, in deelnemers en bereikte leerlingen. De bibliotheek verrijkt op een manier die een leven lang bij je blijft en waar je je leven lang profijt van hebt.
MISSIE BIBLIOCENTER
Bibliocenter is constant in ontwikkeling. Met de missie het creëren van waarde door het samenbrengen van de lokale gemeenschap met de wereld van kennis en lezen, willen we invulling geven aan de drie kernfuncties van onze bibliotheken: lezen, leren en informeren.
