Die Sophie und Karl Binding Stiftung ist eine gemeinnützige politisch und religiös unabhängige Förderstiftung. Sie unterstützt Projekte in den Bereichen Umwelt, Soziales und Kultur in der ganzen Schweiz. Die Stiftung setzt sich das Ziel,

Seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 1963 hat die Stiftung bis dato in ihren Förderbereichen über 3000 Projekte unterstützt. Auf diese Weise kamen gemeinnützigen Projekten insgesamt über 87 Millionen Franken zu Gute.
Die Binding Stiftung agiert ausschliesslich als Förderstiftung. Ihre Fördermittel erwirtschaftet sie durch traditionelle Anlagen in Liegenschaften und Wertpapieren.
Die Sophie und Karl Binding Stiftung beteiligt sich auch aktiv an der Entwicklung des Schweizer Stiftungssektors. So engagiert sie sich bei SwissFoundations, dem Verband der Schweizer Förderstiftungen, dessen Gründungsmitglied die Stiftung ist. Sie ist auch Mitglied von proFonds, dem Dachverband gemeinnütziger Stiftungen der Schweiz.
