Afgewerkte bak- en braadolie, dierlijke vetten en andere soortgelijke grondstoffen zijn puur afvalstoffen en de productie van biodiesel op basis van deze stoffen is een duurzame methode om een afvalstof te verwijderen, en daarmee een waardevolle hernieuwbare hulpbron met lage uitstoot te creëren.
