Microorganisms adapt to the most hostile environments including those designed to eliminate them. Despite advances in analytical technology, increased investments, and stricter regulations, contamination challenges persist.

Controlling microbial risks lies not in conducting more tests or investing in costly analyses, but in collecting relevant, high-quality data and making it accessible where and when it matters most.
However, accessing and leveraging meaningful microbial data isn’t always straightforward. Technical barriers, confidentiality concerns and financial constraints often stand in the way—especially in environments where labs or microbiologists aren’t readily available.
Those are the problems we set out to solve with new technologies.
We have developed a largely digital and open solution called nomad® which capitalizes on human expertise to train AI systems, integrates user-friendly test devices, to address the need for relevant, site and process specific data, enabling the access to actionable insights.
The nomad Microbial Risk Management System (MRMS) combines and automates the best practices from process management, applied microbiology and quality assurance, from sampling through data trending and plant mapping to provide smarter microbiology information where it is most needed.
Following successful reduction to practice and being embraced by early adopters, the nomad system was integrated in 2025 by Alimpex, a company dedicated to hygiene and risk management …and the adventure continues.
