Blue Chicory Records was founded in Nashville, Tenn., in March 2013 by Shannon Selig. As an independent label, we at Blue Chicory strive to support artists who are exemplary role models in the music community. Founded on the belief that music has the ability to effect change in people’s lives, we partner with our artists to ensure their music and core values remain intact. Quality comes first at Blue Chicory and we aren’t interested in chasing the latest trends. History Behind the Name: According to European folklore the Blue Chicory flower is said to have the ability to open locked doors. Blue chicory originated the symbolism for the Blue Flower which is the central symbol for Inspiration. Discovering that Blue Chicory also represents the metaphysical striving for the infinite and unreachable was the deciding factor in naming. Blue Chicory Records believes in opening locked doors for our artists and that nothing is unreachable.
