Bodoland Development Foundation is a non-profit organisation working for an inclusive and sustainable development in the Bodoland Territorial Region of Assam, India.
Born out of hope and resilience, the Bodoland Development Foundation (BDF) was established on August 16, 2021 as a Section 8 Company under the Companies Act 2013. It was founded by a group of like-minded individuals from diverse backgrounds, united by a visionโโA self-reliant, sustainable, and dignified society.โ
Set against the backdrop of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) of Assam, where over 3.5 million people still bear the weight of more than three decades of socio-political unrest, BDF emerged as a beacon of change. The years of conflict left deep scarsโfractured communities, disrupted livelihoods, and stalled progress. Even as peace returned, challenges persist: underdevelopment, poverty, unemployment, and a lack of basic services.
At BDF, we saw the struggles, especially for women and marginalized groupsโpeople with dreams but few opportunities. Determined to rewrite this narrative, we stepped forward with interventions aimed at rebuilding lives, empowering communities, and fostering sustainable and inclusive development.
Today, the journey continues. With every step, we are shaping a future where Bodoland risesโnot in despair, but in dignity and self-reliance.
