The aims of the Society are:
• to foster British values and ideals and promote a spirit of unity, cooperation, mutual helpfulness and collective effort among the British Community in Uruguay and all British subjects permanently or temporarily residing in Uruguay, and to strengthen the ties binding them to the United Kingdom;
• to foster good relations between British subjects permanently or temporarily residing in Uruguay and the people of Uruguay;
• to organise fitting celebrations of anniversaries and events of British national interest;
• to give its Members opportunities to meet for the exposition or discussion of matters of general interest to the British Community in Uruguay, provided these are not of a partisan or sectarian character;
• to establish the conditions for the operation and maintenance of a Benevolent Fund for the purpose of giving financial support British subjects residing in Uruguay and to individuals of the British Community in Uruguay who may require assistance;
• to establish the conditions for the operation and maintenance of the Sir Winston Churchill Home for senior British subjects residing in Uruguay and and individuals of the British Community in Uruguay who cannot provide for themselves;
• to act in the best interests of the British Community in Uruguay and all British subjects residing in Uruguay in any matters not specifically falling within the scope of the British Embassy and/or the British-Uruguayan Chamber of Commerce, and to cooperate with and assist either of said institutions should this be requested.
