Via Calf Expertise Centre (CEC) wordt kennis en expertise van het onderwijs, onderzoek, overheid en bedrijfsleven gebundeld en ingezet. In de werkwijze van het CEC staat de samenwerking centraal: in gezamenlijkheid
worden uitdagingen en problemen van de kalversector opgepakt. CEC faciliteert en stimuleert de uitvoering van de activiteiten op een projectmatige wijze. Het CEC heeft een landelijke functie, met daarbij extra focus op die regio’s waar de kalversector geconcentreerd is. Prioriteiten zijn :
• Emissievraagstukken, emissiereductie (o.a. stikstof)
• Toekomstperspectief in een ruimtelijk gebiedsgerichte aanpak
De focus van het CEC zal inhoudelijk liggen op de aandachtsgebieden milieu, mest en ammoniak. Prioriteit is tevens het met elkaar verbinden en versterken van initiatieven en organisaties in de kalversector.
Het CEC functioneert als kennisloket, stimuleert en coördineert praktijkonderzoek en innovatie, kennisoverdracht naar en door o.a. onderwijs en bedrijfsleven, zorgt voor advisering over regelgeving
en subsidieregelingen. CEC zal actief samenwerken met bestaande initiatieven, zoals de Taskforce Toekomstbestendige stallen Brabant, het PEV (Praktijkcentrum Emissiereductie Veehouderij), Regiodeal Foodvalley (RV), de kennismakelaar kalverhouderij LTO , de Innovatiemakelaar kalverhouderij , het Landbouwnetwerk Regio Foodvalley en het IRAS. CEC is aanspreekpunt voor kalverhouders, bedrijfsleven, brancheorganisaties, de overheid (o.a. voor
RVO, provincies, regio’s, gemeentes), kennisorganisaties-onderzoek en media.
