CARE Österreich, Verein für Entwicklungszusammenarbeit und humanitäre Hilfe, wurde 1986 gegründet. Als Non-Profit Organisation sind wir politisch und religiös unabhängig. Im Jahr 2021 wurden von uns 67 Projekte in 20 Ländern betreut. Unser Team in Wien besteht aus 45 MitarbeiterInnen.

Bei allen Projekten verfolgt CARE Österreich als oberstes Prinzip: Hilfe zur Selbstentwicklung! Unter voller Mitwirkung der Betroffenen schafft CARE Bedingungen, unter welchen sich die Menschen selbst helfen können. Und macht sich damit letztendlich selbst überflüssig.

CARE Österreich führt selbständig Projekte durch, unterstützt aber auch regelmäßig die Projektarbeit von CARE International. 2021 kamen die Projekte von CARE International 100 Millionen Menschen in 102 Ländern zugute.
