Carree Architecten is opgericht in 1994 en is sinds 2004 gevestigd in het door henzelf getransformeerde Monumento Urbano te Zaandam. In een multidisciplinair team wordt er onder leiding van twee hoofdarchitecten met verschillende specialismen gewerkt aan een grote variatie van opgaven.
In de loop der jaren zijn diverse gebouwen gerealiseerd, variërend van een eenvoudige aanbouw aan een woonhuis tot de gecompliceerde herstructurering en transformatie van het 17.000 m2 grote Verkade-complex. Aansprekende projecten zijn o.a. het Zaantheater, basisschool de Piramide en diverse soorten woningbouw.
Mede door hun analytische aanpak en brede kennis over architectuur worden ze vaak gevraagd voor studies naar bestaande vraagstukken. Uitgevoerde onderzoeken zijn o.a. herbestemmingsopgave Noord-Holland en verduurzaming van de stedelijke omgeving.
