Cartesian Robotics is solving a major bottleneck of life sciences - excruciating amount of manual work. We develop and provide a highly flexible, multi-purpose and affordable universal robotic platform to automate a wide range of wet lab protocols.
Our ultimate aim is not only to automate currently existing workflows, but to simplify the process of automating any workflow that may appear in the future.
What makes us unique is that we prioritize the simplicity of prototyping, rather than operation throughput. Our customers have workflows that are not yet fully established, and so, those workflows need regular adjustments. Our platform is specifically designed for this type of work. We make sure it is extremely simple to tweak an existing protocol and continue operation without almost any delay.
A unique modular design of our platform ensures simplicity of prototyping. We make sure that each individual task in the workflow is performed by a module, or a “tool”, which automatically plugs into a standard robotic platform.
Years of experience in molecular biology, chemistry and related fields taught us that while each laboratory workflow is different, all of them consist of just a few standard operations, such as liquid transfer, opening/closing tubes and moving tubes between third-party machines. Therefore, automating those three operations allow to automate majority of workflows.
When a workflow needs to be changed, no changes in hardware are needed, and the software is easily modified because it was designed with prototyping in mind. Moreover, our platform is intended for seamless integration with other laboratory equipment, such as centrifuges, flow cytometers and more.
