THE IDEA
The idea of Catalyst was conceived by Louis Parkinson, a lifelong passionate climber. Relentlessly enthusiastic about bouldering, Louis is known for relying almost entirely on bull-headed persistence rather than efficient climbing technique. Louis has climbed for 14 years and travelled all over the world. He has competed nationally for many years, and represented team GB at the 2015 World Cup. He loves climbing outdoors on rock, reaching the grade of V13 after many years of hard work. Louis has spent the majority of the last 5 years working as an indoor bouldering coach, carefully developing his own approach to coaching based on a couple of simple concepts:
Everybody is capable of far more than they first expect.
A bit of guidance on technique and a healthy boost in confidence goes a long way to helping people realise their true capabilities.
THE COMPANY
In May 2017 Louis partnered up with Francesco Carta to set up Catalyst Climbing Limited, the first multi-coach and multi-gym Bouldering coaching company. Francesco has years of experience in management, both in UK and overseas.
Catalyst is a growing company in a market with high growth potential. The company has already caught the attention of climbing walls and mainstream media.

Focusing as much on teaching climbing techniques as on outright fun, Catalyst Climbing is a new coaching service to deliver a united and uniform style of teaching from multiple coaches all over London. Whether you’ve never climbed before and looking to try it for the first time, or you’re an experienced climber looking to break into the next grade, Catalyst is here to help!
