In 1986, CBS created the first version of Blaise. The goal was to introduce software for intelligent and interactive data entry and editing (known as Computer-Assisted Data Input, CADI) to their survey programme. Over 30 years later, Blaise® has grown into the go-to tool for complex survey production. Used by national statistical institutes and research institutes worldwide, its applications range over a variety of studies such as household surveys, economic surveys and longitudinal studies. The latest version, Blaise 5, helps you design your questionnaires for computer-assisted personal interviews (CAPI), computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI) and computer-assisted web interviews (CAWI) for any screen size. Unique to Blaise 5 are fully adaptive questionnaires. You have full flexibility over your questionnaires’ designs. You can adjust the layout and screen wordings for each interviewing method without having to create a new instrument each time. Team Blaise’s mission is to combine methodology with technology to help its users gain a deeper understanding.
