As an independent marketing communications consultant, Cathy Cowan brings her extensive big brand experience, entrepreneurial mindset and passion for making the world a better place to her collaborations with nonprofits, agencies and socially minded businesses.
Cathy started her career working for nonprofits before going to work in progressively senior management roles with big PR shops in Toronto (Weber Shandwick, GCI Group and GPC/Fleishman Hillard). In 2002, she founded Cowan & Company Communications, a full service marketing communications agency for first class brands, recognized as IABC Toronto’s Boutique PR Agency of the Year 4 times (!) and receiving more than 15 awards for innovations in marketing communications, media relations, special events, writing and corporate social responsibility.
Cathy has proudly worked with an array of leading brands, corporate social responsibility initiatives and nonprofits including Canadian Mental Health Association, L’Oreal Paris, Kraft, Jamieson Vitamins, Nintendo, Cisco, Expedia, CARA Restaurants and Food Banks Canada.
C&C Consulting evolved from the successes of Cowan & Company after Cathy decided to align her personal expertise, services and passion for social impact communications. Her full suite of project-based and fractional marketing communications services includes strategic planning, integrated marketing, issues management, internal communications, project management and team mentorship.
