CEDS adalah Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa di Universitas Indonesia yang bergerak dibidang pembinaan bisnis mahasiswa. Memulai aktivitasnya pada tahun 1997, CEDS selanjutnya resmi menjadi UKM dibawah rektorat UI sejak tanggal 7 Juli 1998. Setiap tahunnya, CEDS menerima sekitar 40-80 mahasiswa dari berbagai fakultas dan latar belakang sebagai member dan pengurus organisasi.
Visi CEDS UI adalah memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan dan pengkajian kewirausahaan bagi mahasiswa pada khususnya dan masyarakat pada umumnya. Dimana dikalangan mahasiswa, program CEDS difokuskan untuk membantu mahasiswa yang belum memiliki bisnis, untuk mulai berbisnis melalui kurikulum kelas bisnis yang disusun oleh pengurus CEDS. Nantinya, keluaran UKM CEDS mampu menjalankan bisnisnya secara real dan siap menjalin koneksi dengan pengusaha-pengusaha lain dengan berbagai latar belakang.
Untuk mewujudkan visi tersebut, networking dan faktor lingkungan menjadi salah satu penentu. CEDS mengumpulkan anggota yang memiliki passion tinggi di bidang bisnis, sehingga UKM ini juga berfungsi sebagai ajang sharing pengalaman bisnis, dan tempat mahasiswa mencari partner bisnis di masa depan.
CEDS telah meluluskan sebanyak 18 Angkatan organisasi, yang tergabung dalam Ikatan Alumni CEDS UI (Iluni CEDS UI). Saat ini, lulusan CEDS tersebar di seluruh Indonesia sebagai pengusaha diberbagai bidang seperti Fashion, Kuliner, Jasa, Konsultan, IT, Perikanan, Industri Perumahan, dsb. Lulusan CEDS yang telah sukses berbisnis ini, juga nantinya akan menjadi mentor bagi anggota-anggota baru setiap tahunnya dari kalangan mahasiswa aktif.
