Centre of Excellence for Governance, Ethics and Transparency, Global Compact Network India (GCNI)
The Indian Chapter of UN Global Compact – Global Compact Network India (GCNI) had established the Centre of Excellence for Governance, Ethics and Transparency (CEGET) in 2015. CEGET especially draws its mandate from the UNGC’s principled-framework especially around principle 10 and has aligned its mandate for good governance of UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and committed to the agenda of Corporate, Urban and Environment Governance. CEGET to follow a Collective Action Approach in all its Initiatives
CEGETs flagship activities would broadly be covered under:
1. Corporate Governance:
Ensure Ethical approach and Transparency in stakeholder governance, especially corporates
Develop Business Case for Good Governance and Anti-corruption
Promote transparency in Procurement procedures, Value Chain Transparency and Sustainability and adherence to national and international compliance policies and norms
2. Urban Governance:
Integrate Transparency and accountability in public establishments, especially urban governance institutions
Spur adaptation of Framework for Smart city Governance
Advocate the need of Risk Assessment and PPP (Public Private Partnership) for Smart cities
3. Environmental Governance:
Promote Conservation, Preservation and Rehabilitation of environment along with Urban Pollution Control
Raise awareness about Biodiversity conservation and Climate Change and need for proactive alliances
Fine tune collective action in biodiversity through business stewardship
