CDD is a national-level NGO in Bangladesh, working since 1996 for an inclusive, just, and rights-based society for persons with all types of disabilities. It implements projects, provides technical support to organizations on disability inclusion and serves as a Grants Manager for different funding agencies. The vision of CDD is ‘An inclusive world where all persons with disabilities live with dignity.’ CDD applies the Twin Tract Approach by (i) addressing the barriers in mainstream society that bar or limit meaningful and dignified inclusion of persons with disabilities by sensitizing and capacity strengthening of community & mainstream actors to create an enabling environment for inclusion of persons with disabilities. And, secondly by (ii) addressing the targeted and specific needs of persons with disabilities, which incorporate therapeutic services, mobilization, and strengthening leadership capacity for the empowerment of persons with disabilities, their collectives and organization to play an influential role in the society. CDD works in different geolocations of Bangladesh, covering urban & rural areas. CDD is working extensively in the Rohingya Camps and Host Communities. CDD partners with development organizations and Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs). CDD works for & with persons with disabilities, regardless of gender, age, or Indigenous identity, and considers all intersectionality. There are added focus on children & youths, the most marginalized like people with deaf-blindness. The thematic priorities of CDD are (disability inclusion in): - 1. Health & Rehabilitation (It includes Mental Health, SRHR, Leprosy..) 2. Education 3. Rights and Entitlements 4. Livelihood & Economic Development 5. Strengthening Local Governance & Rural Development 6. Water, sanitation, & hygiene 7.a. Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change & Adaptation & Humanitarian Actions 7.b. Humanitarian & Development Action in Rohingya Camps & the Host Communities.
