Chap Research is an innovation program at Westlake High School that gives students the opportunity to acquire real-world skills not taught in school. Chap Research uses a project-based approach to teach both technical skills and “soft skills” such as project management and collaboration. The program strives to give students the leadership capabilities and confidence to succeed in college and career settings and to serve as a model for similar programs in other high schools.
