Le CIRI se compose de 22 équipes regroupant près de 400 personnes (chercheurs, enseignants-chercheurs, hospitalo-universitaires, personnels techniques, doctorants et stagiaires) fédérées autour du même objectif : travailler à la lutte contre les maladies infectieuses. Le Centre contribue à des avancées conceptuelles et technologiques majeures dans ses domaines d’expertise (bactériologie, immunologie et virologie), par des approches alliant la recherche fondamentale à la recherche clinique et appliquée.
