Het Centraal Justitieel Incassobureau is het inning en incasso gezicht van de overheid. De meeste mensen kennen ons van de verkeersboetes. Maar we doen meer. Het Centraal Justitieel Incassobureau (CJIB) is een uitvoeringsorganisatie van het ministerie van Justitie en Veiligheid. We zijn gevestigd in Leeuwarden en verzorgen de inning voor veel overheidsorganisaties. We doen de inning en incasso van verkeersboetes maar innen ook andere geldboetes. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan schadevergoedingsmaatregelen, ontnemingsmaatregelen, dwangsommen en bestuurlijke boetes voor andere overheden. Tevens ontwikkelt het CJIB zich tot operationeel ketenregisseur. Met de uitvoering van deze taken levert het CJIB een belangrijke bijdrage aan de geloofwaardigheid en het gezag van de overheid. We zijn een lerende en innovatieve organisatie met continu aandacht voor verbetering. De combinatie van innovatiekracht, kennis en deskundigheid zorgt voor een prominente positie binnen de overheid. Eén van de belangrijkste maatschappelijke opgaven waar het CJIB voor staat, is maatschappelijk verantwoord innen en incasseren.
