CKTCH je pokračovatelem nejlepších tradic brněnské srdeční a cévní chirurgie, jejíž nejvýznamnější osobností byl mezinárodně uznávaný prof. MUDr. Jan Navrátil, DrSc., dr. h. c., (1909-1992).
